Affiliate internet marketing is one of the various types of businesses you can engage in as a Web marketer. Many people starting out in internet marketing begin in affiliate marketing. It is one of the easiest ventures to begin because as an affiliate you are selling a product already created by someone else. That means most of the hardest work has already been done. What’s left is for you to promote and sell the product for which you get a percentage of the sale. The amount of the percentage differs from product to product and can range from a few percentage points up to around 75%. It’s a good idea to shop around for the best payout and for products that you feel comfortable with.

There are a variety of successful affiliate networks with different products and programs for you to promote. Clickbank is one of the most well know and offers digital information software and products. Affiliates who take the time to learn and understand how best to promote these products offered through Clickbank can often times make a very substantial living. Clickbank is a good place to start. They have a huge variety of products and categories to choose from.

Linkshare is another affiliate network. Some of the biggest advertisers in the business are on this network and you will find that many of their affiliate programs are commission per sale. Some are commission per lead. A list of the some of the most well known names represented by Linkshare include drugstore.com, beauty.com, eHarmony, The Body Shop and many others. No matter which niche you decide to promote or focus on this company has something for you to sell along with great promotional materials.

Commission Junction is another one of the leading affiliate companies you should consider. You will find that they have a quite a number of big name advertisers as well as some not so well known. This network is very popular but they do deactivate publishers who do not earn commission within a designated amount of time. Also, a few of their programs require special approval by the program owner.

One other facet of affiliate Internet Marketing is the CPA world. CPA stands for cost per acquisition or, more commonly, cost per action. When a visitor to your site or link performs the desired action (be it a sale, click or lead) you get paid. A couple of popular CPA networks include Max Bounty and Neverblue Ads. These networks are serious about their affiliates and often require a phone interview before you can be approved. Also there is certain criteria your website must meet. Don’t let that intimidate you though. They do want to work with you, they just want to be sure you are a good fit. There are many of these CPA networks so, if you happen to not get accepted by one(which does happen occassionally), there are many others to look at.
